I will also be mentioning essential and non essential ingredients as well so don’t panic if you don’t any ingredient!

This is my first recipe blog and if I missed anything then do comment below or DM me on instagram (@ashika.advankar)

For Marinating Chicken

  • Chicken (Obviously) I have used boneless chicken here
  • Salt
  • Ginger and garlic paste (I have used ginger, garlic and green chilli paste because that’s what I had)
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder

For Chicken Gravy

I will using (ne) in front of ingredients that you can ignore if you don’t have it.

  • 2 Onion (Sliced)
  • 2 Tomotoes (paste or sliced)
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • 3 Cardamom (ne)
  • 2 bay leaf (ne)
  • 3 cloves (ne)
  • 3 black pepper (ne)
  • 1 Cinnamon stick (ne)
  • Yoghurt
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Shahi Biryani Masala (ne)
  • Coriander powder
  • Garam masala
  • Kasuri methi (ne)
  • Oil
  • Salt

1. Take a pressure cooker or kadhai, start heating and add oil to it, add dry spices (Cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, clove, black pepper)

If you don’t have the dry spices then also it if fine.

2. After the vessel gets a bit hot add onions to it and fry it it becomes a brown. (Shoutout to Manisha for slicing these onions because I ain’t doing it)

Don’t fry them till they burn people

3. Add tomatoes. If you are using a paste then it is easier to cook, if not then cover the vessel for three minutes or till they become soft

My lazy ass didn’t want to make a paste

4. Remove all the dry spices. Leave them in if you want these buggers to ruin your palate when you bite on them during eating.

And yes my mom shouted at me because I wasted all these spices. I wish I was wasted while making this

5. Add ginger garlic (and green chilli) paste and fry it with the the tomatoes and onions a bit

I can’t eat anything without ginger and garlic paste. What about Jain people you say? What are Jain people doing in a Chicken Masala recipe blog?

6. Oh No! I forgot to marinate the chicken! No issues you can marinate and Keep it for 10 minutes as well. Add salt, green chilli paste, red chilli powder and turmeric mix it well and keep it aside.

Make sure you clean and cut the chicken before adding this
After photo. Look at that damn colour

7. Turn off the gas and let it cool a bit before adding the dry masalas to it.

Added one spoon of Red chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and coriander powder each and mix it well

8. Add Shahi Biryani Masala if you have it but this step can also be ignored (but frankly it gives an amazing taste)

See the smart attempt I made to hide the name of the brand

9. Add salt to the mixture and mix well

10. Add yoghurt to the mixture

Make sure you make the yoghurt a homogeneous mixture before adding it. Beat it for a minute before you add it. Add yoghurt as per the quantity of your chicken

11. Mix it well and start the gas again at a medium flames

That colour tho 😍

12. Add Kasuri methi if you want

I add this thing in every damn dish

13. Add water to the masala and heat till it boils

Add water as per chicken quantity and the texture of gravy you want.

14. Add Chicken to it

The star of the dish

15. Cook it in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes or in any vessel till it gets cooked

And the final cooked photo is here…!!

That colour tho
